Summary Statement 1: There is a reason this book is characterized
as Romantic Suspense. Boredom is
definitely not an issue with this author!
Summary Statement 2: The characters are very well developed;
background history is carefully built along the way. Slowly and delicately, it’s like learning of
a new friends past.
Summary Statement 3: One of the best series ever told (in my
opinion), Pettrey easily weaves the storylines drawing the reader in to the
lives of each and every McKenna family member
Reef and Kirra have known each other since they were
young. While most of their past years
have been spent at odds, they must now work together if they are going to save Kirra’s
cousin. Meg has turned up missing, and
according to the man who pointed a gun at Reef and Kirra, it’s all due to her
Uncle Frank.
Uncle Frank has been in the Iditarod race before, so why is
he now missing from the pack and not checking in at the check points? In a brief encounter after searching and
finding him, Uncle Frank tells Kirra that death may come to many people if Meg
is not found before he finishes the race.
Meg and Reef, with help from the McKenna’s, must solve Meg’s
kidnapping before it’s too late. With
emotions running high, feelings are fast approaching the boiling point of no
return. Can Kirra and Reef find Meg
before it’s too late? Or will their
budding relationship keep them on the sidelines?
Dani Pettrey, winner of the 2014 Daphne Du Maurier Award for
Inspirational Romantic Suspense, writes this final novel in the Alaskan Courage series. The McKenna family is a name we have come to
know and love over the past few years. This
reviewer would be amiss if she did not admit to a feeling of sadness at this
final chapter in the saga.
One of the best series ever told (in my opinion), Pettrey easily
weaves the storylines drawing the reader in to the lives of each and every
McKenna family member. Unique to this
author, Pettrey has been very instrumental in keeping her readers connected to
the characters. Posting side tidbits of
information on social media, sharing the characters favorite snacks/beverages,
and even listing what their favorite music playlist may be. What a great way to keep readers involved!
Besides the emotional attachment I had to the series, there
were other reasons I was always so eager to read a Pettrey book. As previously mentioned, storylines are well
told, flowing freely across the pages.
There is no stumbling while reading, fluency is not an issue with this
author.
The characters are very well developed; background history
is carefully built along the way. Slowly
and delicately, it’s like learning of a new friends past. It’s not something you want sprung on you;
you want the details easily given so there are no surprises or shocking
revelations to hamper the growing relationship.
There is a reason this book is characterized as Romantic
Suspense. Boredom is definitely not an
issue with this author! From
snowmobiling to plane rides, this book is packed full of adventure, just as fans
have come to expect. You know that
feeling you get as you sit on the edge of your seat eager to see what’s around
the corner, not totally sure you can handle what’s to come? Yes, you’ll find that here in Sabotaged.
This book is an easy 4 hour read, completely done in one
sitting. But you’ll have to put
everything else on hold as you rejoin an old family friend. The laundry can wait; it will still be there
tomorrow. But the McKenna family? This is their last hurrah. So buckle up and get ready for the ride of
your life!
