About the book (from Amazon)...

Tragedy tore Christopher’s world apart. But Emily believes there are enough pieces left behind to stitch together a beautiful new beginning.
Emily Fisher is eager to meet the new employee at her father’s shop in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. But when Christopher Hochstetler arrives, his cold demeanor freezes her attempts at building a friendship.
Longing for a fresh start, Christopher travels from Ohio to Bird-in-Hand to work at his uncle’s shop. Christopher’s heart is still wounded from memories of home, and making new friends is the last thing on his mind—he knows the pain that comes with losing those you love. When Emily is kind to him, he tries to remain distant, but he soon finds himself stealing glances at her throughout the day.
When Christopher shares his tragic reasons for leaving home, Emily decides to make a quilt for him as a gesture of their friendship. Even though he is not a member of the church, she’s found someone with whom she can imagine a future. The two are quickly falling in love when a family emergency calls Christopher back to Ohio without warning.
Emily finishes the quilt, in spite of her pain. But when Christopher receives it, will he have the courage to follow his heart?

My thoughts...

As mentioned previously in other posts, I LOVE Amy Clipston!  She is such a great author to work with.  I've been a part of her "Bakery Bunch" for well over a year now (read more here), and she makes it so easy to share about her books.  I mean really...who doesn't want to share about a great book with others?

This series by Clipston, Amish Herloom, has had some of the most beautiful covers I have seen on these types of books (and let me tell you, working in a library has allowed me to see MANY covers).  The simplicity of one person, with one "prop" that ties in to the title of the book is a marketing genius.  Often times the title and author's name can get lost on the cover, intermingled with a very busy picture.  And as you have come to learn, I am all about the cover of a book!  If it doesn't grab my attention and call out to me?  I'm not going to read it.  Plain and simple 😊

"The Cherished Quilt", book 3 in the series, is a great addition with a fascinating story.  (Ironic that I was working on a t-shirt quilt while reading this novel)  I'm not one to dwell on my thoughts of a book, so many of us can have differing opinions and varying thoughts.  And really...when it comes right down to it, all someone wants to know is if you enjoyed the story.  Did I enjoy "The Cherished Quilt"?  Yes, I did.  As usual, Clipston's book was a super fast read with an excellent display of writing skills and knowledge.

I give this book 5 stars and would highly recommend the series to someone looking to jump in to the Amish Christian Fiction genre.
