The
NIV
Fruit of the Spirit Bible is
perfect for little hands! Not only is it easy for them to hold, it's
a great size for carrying and transporting back and forth from church
services! Roughly 5” x 7” in size, this would even fit perfectly
in a handbag or small tote!
The covers are amazing, made to look like
different “fruits” that we would eat! Italian duo-tone, the one
I previewed was the watermelon, although a strawberry cover is also
available. So vibrant in colors, every little detail was added to
make it colorful and eye catching, even down to the seeds of the
watermelon! The leather cover is child friendly, I noticed a little
spot on the green slice of the watermelon, dampened a cloth, and the
spot washed right off!
Full of all the little “extras” kids
will enjoy, the colors do not stop on the outside cover. Continued
throughout the inside, there are twelve full color pages that
introduce each fruit of the spirit, explaining what it is, how to
model it, and why it's important. Key scriptures are also included
on those pages, followed up by a one sentence prayer asking for God's
help in demonstrating that fruit daily.
The NIV has become one of the bestselling
versions on the market today. It's easy enough for children to read
and understand, but yet does not lose it's meaning in the
translation. Another great aspect I loved? The lay-flat ability of
the Bible while reading the pages. There is nothing worse for a new
reader then the pages flopping back and forth as they are exploring
the chapters. Guess what else? The little ribbon used to keep your
place or mark where you left off? Brightly colored to match the
outside fruit of the Bible! Every little detail was captured to
enhance the beauty of this book.
Typical
features are also found in this Fruit
of the Spirit
Bible. The beginning has a table of contents for a quick page
reference for the specific book you are looking for. There are 2
ways for the children to look up the books; first using the contents
page which is divided by the Old and New Testament, or by looking on
the contents page that is structured alphabetically. The back of the
Bible has a page for the Table of Weights and Measurements, for those
children that like to dive deeper and know the specific facts!
Giving this Bible as a gift? There is a colorful first page where
you can write the child's name, date given, and who is was given by!
