The One-Day Way by Chantel Hobbs is full of information...just not exactly what I was looking for in the first few chapters. I guess when I read a "self help" book, I want to dive right in to the "nitty gritty" and get the problem fixed!
Hobbs starts out her book by giving us some background on herself, and her 200 pound overweight issue she dealt with many years ago. She then goes on to outline what she will be covering in the chapters to follow; the eating plan and the exercise regimen.
There are several points she makes that I like, for instance, the premise behind the book is to take one day at a time. Don't dwell on your past failures, or successes for that matter, and don't look to the future. Just live in the moment, and make celebrations for those achievements. Celebrate that today, you didn't eat any chips/cookies/etc. Celebrate today, that you finally exercised. Don't get caught up in the so many day streak you are on, just concentrate on today.
I recommend this book and give it 3 stars. I mean really, who couldn't benefit from reading another book on healthy living? You can always gleam something new you might use or pass on to someone else!
I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group and was not required to post a positive review.
